Though most of the Mickeys brightening Kauffman's home and camper aren't necessarily valuable collectors' items, Mickey's charisma adds immeasurable personal value to whatever his face is branded on. "My daughter still has her original Mickey that she got when she was 6 years old." "My kids are in their 30s now, and the thing to do when they were kids was go to Disneyland and get a stuffed Mickey Mouse," Skelly said. Some of the first Mickey items were tin wind-up toys and stuffed animals.
